1. ‘Genuine’
Height: 16.2hh
Gender: gelding
Age: nine
Selling points: “This is a confidence-giving hunter who will try his hand at most things. ‘Bertie’ is a beautiful model, nicely marked and well put together, with a good mix of blood and substance. He is a wonderful kind, genuine, willing horse who always tries his heart out for you. Bertie rides well on the flat with balanced paces and a good mouth. He is forward and responsive to the aids. Bertie has a great attitude to his work and is a real pleasure to work with. He is not a push-button horse and does require some skill to get the best out of him. He will best suit a kind rider with an independent seat and nice hands. If you pull on him, he will just pull back. He is currently in a snaffle for all activities. He is very bold to a fence and loves his jumping. He is careful and with good scope and would certainly go British Eventing (BE) or British Showjumping (BS). He has hunted well for the past two seasons with the Heythop and North Cotswold. He has competed in unaffiliated showing, eventing to 90cm and showjumping to 1m. Bertie is brilliant to hack and will go alone and in company. He will live in or out and is a pleasure to have on the yard.”

He is happy to hack alone and in company and is great in heavy traffic. ‘Shelby’ has excellent ground manners and is not bargy or pushy. He loves people and will stand for hours to be groomed. 5. ‘Fantastic’
Height: 16.2hh
Gender: gelding
Age: 11
Selling points: “‘Ben’ has been a fantastic family hunter for the past five years, both field mastering, being a ladies’ horse, and taking the children out on. He started eventing last year with success at BE100 level. He has field mastered for the Cheshire Hunt and crosses the biggest of country with ease – he absolutely loves his job and is always a reliable lead. He has masses of jump and would be an ideal masters’/huntsman’s horse. He is keen into fences, especially when in the field but will always get you to the other side safely. He hacks out alone and in company, is good in all sorts of traffic and to ride and lead. He recently started some eventing with an immaculate cross-country record at BE100. Dressage is not his strong point, but he is a serious jumper and would give any rider a great experience across the country. He showjumps well and has jumped double clears at 1.10m/newcomers (on a ticket) – a very careful horse. He has fantastic Irish breeding and is an athletic but sturdy type that is never sick or sorry. An extremely kind person, so easy to do, good for the farrier and vet, to clip and a pleasure to have on the yard.”
